Answer: As far as stocking grass carp in Alabama and Mississippi, we normally, well the recommendations go on what type of plant situation you’ve got. If it’s a new pond and there aren’t many plants visible or if it’s an older pond and there aren’t any plant issues, then we’ll normally only stock about five per acre. But depending on how bad, if you have a plant problem, depending on how bad it is, we will go up to 25 per acre and even more sometimes in certain situations if you have an extreme plant issue. So, you know, if you have a lot of coverage in the pond then you’re going to need a lot of grass carp to get rid of that stuff, the plants, to start with.
