Keeping Alligators Out of a Pond

Question: What can be done to keep alligators out of my pond or lake?

Answer: Alligators are a common issue in retention ponds. DNR is generally the best way to resolve this problem if you feel like this alligator is a nuisance. More commonly, when we get calls that we hear about a nuisance alligator, we find that they’ve been fed. So the best way to prevent alligators from getting in your pond is don’t feed them.
