Answer: I’m licensed in natural areas. What that means is, areas that are protected areas that are designed for important ecological and scientific values that are managed or maintained with minimum human disturbance. The state of Florida is the only state that offers natural areas licensing. That’s where my main license is. But it is also federally accepted throughout other states, which Florida being the only one that offers that certification.
The certification process entails reading and learning all the information in the books, and then you usually sit through some education credit courses, taking a test, and then you have to maintain that education credits, and keeping up with all the new and ongoing ideas that’s out there dealing with natural areas and wetlands.
