Reason for Fish Skeletons on Pond Bank

Question: Why would I be seeing fish skeletons on the bank of my pond or lake?

Answer: Almost always that’s from otters. Otters will come in at night, they’ll catch a fish, they bring them up to the bank and consume the fish on the bank. Generally, you just see the skeleton left over. A telltale sign of otters are the trail that comes in and out, usually it’s up and over the top of a dyke.
